Balsam Bashing down Brunstane Burn

This is another useful job that we do in the conservation group. Although Himalayan Balsam are magnificent when in flower, they can be massively invasive if left to go to seed. They can grow to more than 2m tall, so when the seed pods explode, the seed goes everywhere, and other plants cannot compete. Some seed inevitable lands in the burn which spreads it downstream to infest more riverbank.

We are now able to control the North side of the Burn, but the South bank is not so easy as it is not so accessible.
