What we do

These examples are to give you a little more background of our past and present activities. Members are encouraged to participate in group activities for the social benefits as well as one-to-one exchanges.  Anyone with a new craft or skill is especially welcome to share it with one of our 'groups'. See our full range of services on the homepage.

Mending and altering: We have several members who have these skills and happy to mend items of clothing etc.

Litter cleaning: These are well attended group events typically 2 or 3 hours focused on cleaning up considerable quantities of all sorts of things - not just litter!

Pet sitting & Dog walking: Lots of opportunity to make friends with other members' pets!

DIY (homes and gardens): This has always been a popular service, with high demand to get all those odd jobs done, inside and out.

Conservation group: under Council supervision, timebank members take on some woodland management tasks e.g. clearing ivy, sycamore saplings and weeding Himalayan balsam from the burn.

Gardening: Very popular! This activity ranges from helping in member gardens to taking on public spaces by the Community gardening group.

Craft-along is another group who take on many different crafts e.g. making and painting papier mache bottles and pots, book binding, origami, and more!

Bird watching has grown in popularity in recent years as we have some very capable birders who regularly visit the local reserves that promote wildlife.

Mah-jong has been played by a dedicated group of members almost since the timebank started.

Carol Singing: members, friends and family singing around the neighbourhood raising funds for TB and local charities.

Community Gardening: at the Morton St triangle and other locations, with thanks to our guerrilla gardeners!

French conversation: We have a group who regularly meet to discuss in French. There could be interest in other languages too.
